Judy Shepard’s son Matthew, a 21-year old college student in Wyoming, was murdered in a brutal hate crime. That event and all that has come of it changed her life and the world forever. Along with her husband Dennis, Judy Shepard founded the Matthew Shepard Foundation dedicated to championing issues of social justice; diversity awareness and education; and equality of gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender people. The author of The Meaning of Matthew, Judy Shepard is a nationally and internationally recognized speaker promoting tolerance and curbing prejudice.
